We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (w/m/d).

Your area of responsibility

  • All our projects and services concern the area of food information systems.
  • Your core task is the further development of these projects and services as well as the continuation of our research projects.
  • This includes the design, development, testing, deployment and the maintenance and improvement of web-applications for our products and services.
  • All applications are based on the Symfony framework.

Requirements

  • You have 5 years of experience. Completed three or more projects on commercially available applications.
  • You have a B.S./M.S in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • You are self-motivated and have the drive to get things done and deliver on team commitments.
  • You are willing to acquire a strong understanding of our systems, customers, and business goals.
  • And will develop a deep understanding of these contexts for your assigned team.
  • You are able to work in a team and take direction well.
  • You ask the relevant questions.
  • You can adapt to changing conditions and coach others through change.
  • You possess the ability to communicate efficiently verbally and through written documentation.
  • You are interested in nutrition and innovative information systems.

Skills

  • Mastery of PHP, data structure and object oriented programming. Seen internally as a leader in this area.
  • Able to assist in defining best practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of design pattern.
  • In-depth knowledge of working with legacy code.
  • In-depth knowledge of web development (JavaScript, Html, CSS, JQuery). Able to perform tasks effectively with only occasional use of guides, research, and mentorship.
  • You can replicate from similar work and apply modifications. You are willing and able to follows best practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server).
  • Mastery of professional practices and methodologies (Test Driven Development, Pair Programming, Code Reviews, Refactoring Techniques, Agile/Scrum)

We are looking for a Software Engineer (w/m/d).

Your area of responsibility

  • You will design and develop responsive web-applications for our projects and services in the area of food information systems.
  • To be precise this means that you will be resonsible for the requirement analysis, the technical design, the effort estimation and the independent documentation of your work.
  • This also includes the development, testing and the deployment as well as the maintainance and improvement of web-applications for our products and services.
  • You will mainly work with WordPress and PHP.

Requirements

  • You have 3 years of experience. Completed one or more projects on commercially available applications.
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fields.
  • Experience with at least one dynamic language
  • Basic knowledge of at least one popular server-side framework (Django, Twisted, Rails, Pyramid, CodeIgniter, Play, etc.)
  • Desire to learn, share your knowledge, and always improve your engineer-self
  • Basic familiarity with a Linux environment
  • You do belief in well-tested code
  • You are reliable and responsible. You enjoy taking responsibility within your role and on projects you have initiated, and you also enjoy bringing out the best in your teammates.
  • You speak at least a little german and you are willing to learn a little more.

Skills

  • Good understanding of SQL
  • Knowledge of WordPress
